The 51st Nashville Film Festival in the US has praised Iranian short film ‘Weekend’.

Ario Motevaqe’s debut film ‘Weekend' succeeded to receive the Best Graveyard Shift Short award at the competition section of the 2020 edition of the Nashville fest.

In ‘Weekend’, Moniri and the Kheradmand family are in the park for a picnic but after finishing their meal, it turns out that they are there for something else.

The cast list of the flick includes Fardin Qaderi, Mostafa Latifikhah, Sahar Taherkhani, Maliheh Esfandiyari and Bardiya Shariati.

‘Weekend' was previously screened at the 43rd Kortfilmfestivalen-Norwegian Short Film Festival, the 18th Ischia Film Festival (iff) in Italy and the 6th Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) in the US.

In late September, ‘Weekend’ took home the Long-Short film award from the 2020 edition of KinoDrome International Motion Picture and Screenplay Festival in the US.

The Nashville Film Festival (NashFilm), held annually in Nashville, Tennessee, is the oldest running film festival in the South and one of the oldest in the United States.

The Nashville fest took place virtually this year from October 1-7, 2020.
